(The Hill) -- Kelly Ripa says it’s “depressing,” but she doesn’t expect to see a woman in the White House in her lifetime.“This goes regardless of political affiliation: Women have to deal with so much bulls--- in every facet of life,” Ripa said on her “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast, released Wednesday.“But when it comes to politics, take that and put it to the 100th power,” the “Live! CEDAR PARK (KXAN) — Makayla Cray didn't even have time to grab diapers on her way out of the apartment Tuesday, flames flaring up behind her shortly after she rushed to evacuate. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Gov. Greg Abbott will hold a ceremonial signing of a historic property tax cut Wednesday afternoon. Visitation School in Mendota Heights is marking its 150th anniversary with three days of events beginning Friday.The school was founded in 1873 when six Visitation nuns traveled on a steamship to the area from St. Louis. They docked at Lower Landing in St. Paul on Aug. 12 and started teaching 29 students in the iniital year.The school’s celebration will include several alumna events on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday events open to the public will be held on the school grounds at 2455 Visitation Drive.Saturday events will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will include carnival games, live music and food trucks. On Saturday evening an outdoor concert — from 7 to 10 p.m. — will feature Martin Zellar and the Hardways with Ross Bell opening. LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 39-year-old resident of Cornwallville was arrested on Wednesday for using bad checks to pay for car repair services. Jessica M. Glendenning was charged with grand larceny in the third degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, scheme to defraud in the first degree, and two counts of issuing a bad check. A Nederland man is facing arson and animal cruelty charges after a structure fire on Wolftongue Cabin Court Tuesday morning that killed a dog.Homeowner Jarrod Rothwell, 30, admitted to playing with a butane lighter that caught clothes on fire in the basement of the two-story cabin, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office news release.According to the release, deputies smelled smoke at 1:53 a.m. Tuesday, and then discovered the cabin fully engulfed.Multiple departments responded to battle the fire and fire personnel search the home for any occupants but found no one, the release said. No injuries to people were reported and no other structures were damaged.Deputies later learned from Rothwell that a dog was in the home at the time of the fire which he did not try to save or alert first responders of.The dog was later found dead inside the residence.Rothwell was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree arson and misdemeanor animal cruelty. 51-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pickup-Truck Crash on Commerce BoulevardROHNERT PARK, CA (August 9, 2023) – Friday afternoon, Sarah King was killed in a bicycle collision on Commerce Boulevard.The incident happened around 12:40 p.m., in the 5700 block of Commerce Boulevard.Per reports, the driver of a Dodge Ram 1500 was heading north from a parking lot and struck a bicyclist who was heading south on the eastbound lanes.Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the female cyclist dead at the scene.
