First responders extract patient after single-vehicle collision

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire conducted a vehicle rescue in northeast Austin Sunday afternoon.ATCEMS said there was a single-vehicle collision in the 1600 block of Dungan Lane with one patient involved who was pinned in their vehicle.According to officials, the person was extricated from the vehicle, and medics were prepping them to be taken to the hospital.This is a developing story. Minnesota’s first cat café is moving from Uptown to Roseville.The Cafe Meow, a business that fosters cats while providing cat-focused activities along with food and drink for the public, opened five years ago at 2323 Hennepin Ave. and said the support it has received has been “amazing,” according to a Facebook post.The café has outgrown its space and needs “a more spacious layout that caters to the amenities we have discovered along the way, which will better support us and our customers.”The Cafe Meow also has a New Hope location.Visitors have access to a coffee shop and a cat lounge, which charges a cover fee. They can buy merchandise and locally made treats along with coffee and tea. SAUGERTIES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A man in Saugerties was arrested following a menacing incident, according to police. Marlon Galdamez-Navarrette, 41, is facing multiple charges. On July 15 at 12:28 a.m., police responded to 79 Livingston Street in Saugerties for a report of an intoxicated man making threats of violence with a knife, allegedly telling the victim he was going to kill them. Upon arrival, officers took Galdamez-Navarrette into custody, and police say he was non-compliant during the arrest. While being processed at Saugerties Police HQ, police say Galdamez-Navarrette refused to be finger printed and reportedly urinated on the booking room floor. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The champion thoroughbred racehorse Funny Cide, winner of the 2003 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, has passed away. He was 23 years old. The park announced that he passed away on July 16 from complications with colic. The City of Los Angeles has opened dedicated cooling centers at many locations throughout the city as temperatures remain at or near triple digits. Authorities are searching for three suspects after two individuals were robbed and assaulted with a bat in Westlake. According to the LAPD, officers responded to the area of 8th and Alvarado Streets on reports of a stabbing around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Upon arriving on scene, units found two victims who had been assaulted with a bat but confirmed that no stabbing had occurred. 2 Regional Mexican musicians detained at gunpoint by LAPD; manager arrested One victim had their cell phone stolen from them, and both were transported to a local hospital in unknown conditions. (KRON) -- A correctional deputy died in the fatal crash on Highway 87 in San Jose early Saturday morning, the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office confirmed to KRON4.
