Editorial: BLM rule puts conservation on equal footing with oil and gas on public lands The Bureau of Land Management is responsible for more public lands than any other agency in America, and yet, the bureaucracy has few tools to protect and conserve the land for future generations. In many ways, it makes sense that BLM’s mission for generations has been to make sure public lands are utilized for “multiple uses” especially public recreation.
