Hays County brush fire 90% contained, officials say HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) – A brush fire near Hilliard Road in Hays County is about 50 acres in size as of Sunday evening, according to the Hays County Office of Emergency Services.Hays County said the Vineyard Hill fire was about 90% contained as of 6 p.m. Sunday. County officials said minimum crews will remain on scene overnight to observe and extinguish any potential hot spots.  "We've got plenty of water on hand," Mike Jones, Hays County's director of emergency services, said. No homes are currently at risk from the fire, and Jones added that his agency is not planning any evacuation of civilians. LOUIS – The You Paid For It team successfully helped a St. Louis woman get her towed vehicle back.Raven Mayford contacted FOX 2 several weeks ago after her 2004 Durango was towed to the city’s car lot on Hall Street. The St. Louis Streets Department oversees that facility.Mayford paid nearly $400 to get her vehicle out, but said the undercarriage of the SUV was damaged during the tow process. Police searching for wanted sex offender out of Riverside and Kings counties Officials with the Riverside Police Department are searching for a 61-year-old sex offender who failed to return to a Jurupa Valley facility after receiving medical treatment at a hospital late last month, authorities announced on Sunday.  Ron Anthony Coates, who is currently under a conservatorship in Kings County, was taken to the Riverside Community Hospital on June 29. Police say the 61-year-old was treated for an unknown condition and subsequently discharged from the hospital.  A day later, his conservator noticed he had not returned and reported him missing to the Riverside Police Department.  “We have since learned Ron Coates was placed in Riverside County to be evaluated for competency to stand trials for attempted murder and sexual assault in Kings County, as well as being a registered sex offender,” police said. “Kings County has issued a felony bench warrant for Ron Coates’ arrest.”  Coates is described as a Black and Native American adult male, standing 5 ...
