AUSTIN (KXAN) — As the Texas Department of Transportation works toward finalizing its long-ranging transportation plan, it's hosting virtual and in-person forums this spring to collect community feedback.Connecting Texas 2050 is the state agency's update to its long-range transportation plan. ANTIOCH, Calif. (KRON) -- A suspect was arrested after two optometry businesses were burglarized on Friday night, according to the Antioch Police Department. Shots fired as deputies respond to barricaded suspect in Gilroy Garret Louie Optometry and Eye to Eye Optometry were both burglarized, according to police. In each of the burglaries, the suspect shattered the windows to enter. The suspect then filled bags up with glasses before fleeing the scene, police said. Police seek the public’s help in their search for a man who was reported missing near Elliott Key.According to Miami-Dade Police, 51-year-old Harvin Woods was last seen at the sandbar of Homestead Bayfront Park, located at 9698 SW 328th St., at around 6 p.m., Saturday.Woods stands 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs around 205 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. (CNN) — A Delta Air Lines passenger was arrested after opening one of the plane’s doors and sliding down an emergency exit slide as the plane prepared for takeoff from Los Angeles to Seattle Saturday, officials said.The incident on Delta Flight 1714 took place around 10:40 a.m. local time, while the plane was stationary at the Los Angeles International Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.The plane, a Boeing 737, was on the runway holding to taxi for takeoff when the passenger exited the aircraft after activating the emergency exit slide, the FAA said.The passenger was initially detained by Delta staff before being arrested by local law enforcement, the statement read.“Customers are being reaccommodated on a new aircraft and we apologize for the inconvenience and delay in their travel plans,” the FAA said.The FAA is investigating the incident. Fire officials are investigating a fire in Dennis on Sunday morning that left two people dead, officials said. Crews responding to a reported fire on Niblick Road around 7 a.m. found smoke showing from the two-story duplex, according to a statement issued by Dennis Fire Chief Robert Brown, Dennis Police Chief John Brady, State Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey, and Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters located two adult occupants, a man and a woman, inside. They were taken to Cape Cod Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. Their names have not been released.A dog also died in the fire. The cause of the remains under investigation.In a statement, Dennis Fire Chief Robert Brown said, “It’s too early to say how the fire started, but we know there were no working smoke alarms in the unit where it began.
