Austin ISD launches new enrollment system AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Independent School District has launched, Enroll Austin, a new enrollment system for families registering their child/children with the district.Prior to this new system, families had to complete several applications across multiple platforms. Under the new system, applications can be submitted all in one place.According to the district, this offers a more accessible, equitable and transparent experience.Families will use this new system to register for the 2024-25 school year.The district said students can enroll early to gain a seat in special programs with more program options.Families can visit the site and click "Start your application." Current Austin ISD families will enter the same email they use to access the parent portal and will be directed to log in to the Austin ISD Parent Portal.

Veterans to be honored at official Minnesota Veterans Day program In recognition of Veteran’s Day on Saturday, the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting a program honoring veterans.The event, held at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights, will have a free community breakfast for veterans and their family members from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The program featuring a keynote and guest speakers will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., according to an announcement from the Department of Veterans Affairs.The keynote address will be given by Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota Adjutant and CEO Stephen Whitehead. Police seize loaded assault rifle during search warrant ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Peter Addison, 37, of Albany, was arrested following a traffic stop on Lark Drive on Tuesday afternoon.
