The 49ers are still paying Dee Ford. They can pay Nick Bosa. The 49ers are still paying Trey Lance, whom they traded last month. They can pay Nick Bosa. The 49ers are still paying Jimmie Ward, who now plays for the Texans. They can pay Nick Bosa. The 49ers are still paying Trey Sermon.OK, OK, you get it.The question for the 49ers isn’t whether they can afford to pay Nick Bosa but if they want to pay the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year what he wants. That means making him the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player, over the Rams’ Aaron Donald. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Niners don’t seem keen on surpassing the $31.7 million per season.Which is strange, because they’re paying Ford, Lance, Ward, and Sermon a combined $23.76 million against this season’s salary cap, per OverTheCap.com.Money is not an issue for this team.Related ArticlesSan Francisco 49ers | Kurtenbach: The 49ers are clear Super Bowl contenders. ATLANTA (AP) — A federal judge on Tuesday allowed Georgia to resume enforcing a ban on hormone replacement therapy for transgender people under 18.Judge Sarah Geraghty put her previous order blocking the ban on hold after a federal appeals court allowed Alabama to enforce a similar restriction.A three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last month that Alabama can implement a ban on the use of puberty blockers and hormones to treat transgender children. The 11th Circuit includes Georgia. Its ruling came a day after Geraghty issued a preliminary injunction blocking Georgia’s hormone therapy restriction.Attorneys for Georgia had asked her to vacate the preliminary injunction in light of the 11th Circuit decision. The Georgia law, Senate Bill 140, allows doctors to prescribe puberty-blocking medications, and it allows minors who are already receiving hormone therapy to continue. ___UAW’s clash with Big 3 automakers shows off a more confrontational union as strike deadline loomsDETROIT (AP) — A 46% pay raise. A 32-hour week with 40 hours of pay. A restoration of traditional pensions. The demands that a more combative United Auto Workers union has pressed on General Motors, Stellantis and Ford are edging it closer to a strike when its contract ends Sept. 14. The automakers, which are making billions in profits, have dismissed the UAW’s wish list. They argue that its demands are unrealistic at a time of fierce competition as the world shifts from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles. The wide gulf between the sides could mean a strike against one or more of the automakers, which could send already-inflated vehicle prices even higher.___United Airlines says it fixed the technology problem that briefly held up all its departing flightsUnited Airlines says it has fixed the technology problem that briefly prevented its flights nationwide from taking of...The Pac-12 announces it will not go quietly with a perfect start to the season
