New ride-share feature to match women, nonbinary drivers and riders Sarah Freishtat | Chicago Tribune (TNS)Some ride-share passengers who are women or who do not identify strictly as male or female will soon be able to prioritize rides with female or nonbinary drivers.Lyft will begin rolling out the feature, which also allows women and nonbinary drivers to select the same preference, in five test markets Wednesday, including Chicago.The goal is to provide more control over the driving experience, and encourage women and nonbinary people to drive, Lyft executives said. Video shows teen beaten at L.A. McDonald's The family of a teenage girl who was beaten inside a Los Angeles McDonald's has shared disturbing video of the incident with KTLA.The attack took place in Harbor City last week, LAPD confirms.In the video, you can see the female attacker shove the teen girl to the ground, and then jump on top of her and repeatedly punch her in the face. There were dozens of onlookers, and and family says they're disappointed no one stepped in to help the younger girl.Video shows a teenager getting beaten by an older female inside a Harbor City McDonald's on Sept. 6, 2023. Stabbing outside Chase Bank in Berkeley hospitalizes man BERKELEY — A stabbing in front of a bank early Thursday hospitalized a man, and investigators were seeking help to find the suspect.Officers were called to the Chase Bank at 2390 Shattuck Ave. about 3:35 a.m. and found the man with numerous stab wounds, according to a police statement from spokesperson Officer Jessica Perry.Perry in a text said he was stabbed outside the building and went inside the bank to call 911. The emergency call came within 30 minutes of the stabbing, she said.The man, who police said was in his 50’s, went by ambulance to Highland Hospital in Oakland and was listed in stable condition, according to authorities. San Jose: Four arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery in connection to Fourth of July incident SAN JOSE — Months after an armed robbery left a man injured with a gunshot wound in East San Jose, police announced Thursday that four suspects were arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes, including attempted murder.In a news release, police said the three men and one woman in their 20s were involved in an armed robbery on the 3300 block of Shadow Park Place on July 4. While responding to reports of a shooting in the area, officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.While investigating the incident, police identified the four suspects and obtained search and arrest warrants. The warrants for one of the suspects was served on July 31, when a 27-year-old Milpitas man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery and illegal firearm possession.
