ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany sex offender was sentenced to nearly two years in prison for escaping from federal custody. Samuel Rodriguez, 48, was sentenced Thursday, as announced by the Department of Justice (DOJ). Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! According to the DOJ, Rodriguez had permission in November 2022 to leave a halfway house he was ordered to stay at while serving a prior federal term of imprisonment. He was granted permission to leave the halfway house to update his sex offender registration with the police department, however, he didn't return. TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The city of Troy has announced that the boil water advisory that was issued on September 18 has been lifted. Samples taken and processed adhering to Department of Health regulations found the area's water to be safe to drink, according to city officials. MEHLVILLE, Mo -- Due to the escaped inmate, the St. Louis County Police have instructed the Mehlville School District to implement a "secure" plan while they search for the inmate.During the "SECURE" procedure, all doors are locked, and students remain inside the building.
