A woman shot and killed by Boulder police officers on Sunday has been identified as Jeanette Alatorre.The 51-year-old woman was killed Sunday after police said she brandished a replica gun near the North Boulder Recreation Center. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office said her cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.At 4:10 p.m. Sunday, police received a 911 call from a driver who said they were approached by a woman who had a gun in the driveway exit of the recreation center. At 4:12 p.m., police arrived on scene. They located a woman two minutes later, near the center. Boulder police Support Services Deputy Chief Ron Gosage said Monday during a news conference that the woman did not cooperate with police and fled north on Broadway, on foot.Gosage said the woman was seen removing what appeared to be a firearm from her purse and that police used forms of less lethal force against her, to no avail. Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a ruptured underground pipeline that was spewing water onto the streets in the San Fernando Valley Tuesday. Calls about the burst pipeline at the intersection of Hazeltine Avenue and Van Owen Street came in at just after 3 p.m., fire officials said. Two Pronounced Dead after Head-On Accident near Boothe RoadCERES, CA (December 19, 2023) – Leroy Don Smith and Youkhana Atrmiz died Tuesday night in a head-on crash on Hatch Road and Booth Road. Dispatchers responded to the scene around 8:20 p.m.Reports indicate that the operator of a white Chrysler 300 traveling east veered across the double yellow lines. The Chrysler then collided head-on with a blue Toyota Prius, trapping three individuals in both vehicles.Shortly after, a passenger inside the Toyota succumbed to their injuries on-site. The deceased was later identified as 89-year-old Smith from Castro Valley.The Chrysler’s driver, identified as 36-year-old Atrmiz from Ceres, also succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The California exodus isn’t over yet.For the third consecutive year, the Golden State’s population continued to shrink in 2023, even as 42 other states grew this past year, many reversing population declines during the COVID pandemic, according to figures from the U.S. Census Bureau released Tuesday.Overall nationally, the U.S. gained more than 1.6 million people this past year, growing by 0.5% to 334,914,895, the Census reported, with more states seeing population growth in 2023 than in any year since the start of the pandemic. (KRON) -- The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is urging the Alameda County District Attorney's Office to prosecute three teens arrested for homicide as adults. The teens were arrested in connection to the October killing of a fourth teen. Alameda County deputies and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded on Oct. 8, 2023 at around 10:45 p.m. to a report of a carjacking and possible shooting. The scene was an apartment complex on Miramar Avenue in Unincorporated San Leandro.At the scene, deputies found the victim, 18-year-old Leandro Iquite suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Michael Dunbar was last seen at TreVista Assisted Living, located at 3950 Lone Tree Way. He is considered at-risk due to medical conditions.
